Episode One:

Episode Two: in which I talked about a study into the Lychee Genome. The link to the study I referenced is from an article from Buffalo University, @ http://www.buffalo.edu, titled ‘Lychee Genome tells colourful story about colourful tropical fruit’ 3/1/22

Episode three: in which I talk about people who have studied whether plants ‘talk’. I referenced an article on BBC Future titled ‘The People Who Believe Plants Can Talk’ by Chris Baranvk 1/9/21. The study itself was published as ‘Towards Understanding Plant Bioacoustics’ at sciencedirect.com.

Episode Four: In which I talk a little about why some leaves have holes in them. I referenced a study done by Christopher Muir at Indiana University. Published as ‘How did the Swiss Cheese Plant get its Holes?’ in American Naturalist (Vol 181, Feb 2013) and also found on jstor.org/stable/10.1086/668819

Episode Five: Taking a look at how our changing climate is affecting our plant world is a hot topic right now so I will be referencing this quite regularly. In this episode I have referenced a study into early growth of tree which will affect carbon sequestration. The article I referenced can be found at nature.com and is called ‘An earlier start of the thermal growing season enhances tree growth in cold humid areas but not dry ones’ (28/2/22)
